NM/AZ/NV/UT/CO Ride - Fifth day (19-May-2010)

The Grand Canyon, South Rim was our first stop for the day. The canyon hasn't changed since I was a kid and hiked down to the bottom with my good friend Carl. However, the construction was going full blast to make way for more buses full of tourists. Dean and Greg getting out of the way as they unload.

Steve and Greg take a break from the 1/4 mile hike...

The views were, again, stunning...

And the song lyrics of "deep and wide" come to mind... Theresa grabbing some shade...

For lunch, we heard that there was a great homemade pie place in Williams, AZ. So, we made a beeline for Williams, along old Route 66. The pies definitely looked good, and 'Vanna' Greg poses:

The fruit pies were pretty good and the cream pies were pretty good...for the first couple of bites. Then, there was just too much cream... We were glad we didn't have children along with us...

We then made a stop in Jerome before stopping for the night in Prescott (pronounced Press-Ket by the locals). The view from Jerome to the cliffs above Sedona is beautiful...
