NM/AZ/NV/UT/CO Ride - Sixth day (20-May-2010)

We left Prescott with gas in our tanks, but not enough. We figured (I as their leader made the stupid decision) we could head out from the hotel without filling up, as there was sure to be a gas station nearby. Hmmm. Bad move.

The road leaving Prescott was fantastic, curves, hills and twists following the terrain. Well, we didn't run out of gas, but we did slow it down to conserve fuel until we reached Bagdad. Luckily Bagdad is still an active mining town and there was plenty of gasoline...

We stopped in Wikieup, AZ for pie. Outside was the largest cactus I've ever seen...

Next stop...Hoover Dam. The government is building a new freeway over the gorge (to the left) and it looks to be close to completion. We assume it is being built to divert traffic away from the dam, to prevent the bad guys from doing something devious to the structure and flooding the downstream populations. The biker gang...

We headed for Vegas and checked into the hotel, another Embassy Suites. The gang wanted to see the town, so we grabbed the monorail...

And bright lights. Some of us won a bit, some of us lost a bit. We won't say who, but I didn't lose...this time...
