Tail of the Dragon

Laura & I just returned from North Carolina/Tennessee where we rode the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway. Great roads and beautiful scenery. The weather was cool (38 degrees in the morning but middle 60's during the day) and clear all 4 days.

We stayed @ the Ironhorse Motorcycle Resort & Campground in Stecoah,NC. The rates were very reasonable and we would stay there again, but would probably rent one of their cabins instead of trying to sleep in my cramped Toy-Hauler.

Overall, a great trip & I did so much better riding the Dragon than I ever would have imagined. Only scraped the left floorbord a couple of times!

No KillBoy to record the event, but none the less I did it. I'm plotting to go back again, this time with the Street Bobbed Bentley and get the pics for the record. I'm looking at doing some scraping myself since I've not done it in a very long time.; ▶ Reply to This

I try to make a pilgrimage at least once a year to that area, it is an absolutley beautiful part of the country and the riding is extremely inspiring. It definetley reminds you how much you can love owning a motorcycle!!; ▶ Reply to This
